Regular chimney sweeping removes soot, debris, and blockages such as bird nests, helping prevent chimney fires and carbon monoxide risks. Many home insurance policies also require evidence of regular sweeping carried out by a qualified professional.
-
This depends on the type of fuel you use:
Woodburners & Multi-fuel Stoves: At least once a year.
Open Fireplaces: Twice a year if used frequently.
Thatched Properties: At least twice a year due to increased fire risks.
If you use your stove more heavily in winter, more frequent sweeping is recommended.
